Why Shane Alan Yoga?

When you come onto your mat in a Shane Alan Yoga class, you can be certain that you're entering a  safe space. The mat is a Yogi's home. its their connection to their yoga family and the wider yoga community. There is no judgement, only encouragement, its a space to connect with yourself whenever you need.

A lot of people believe that yoga is about making fancy shapes and being able to touch your toes. This is a common thought that many people have however, Yoga is in so much more than that. It is a practice to unite mind, body and breath. To look inside yourself and find acceptance, detachment and calm. There are multiple physical, mental and emotional benefits to practicing yoga that can make day to day living more peaceful.  Physical practices can build strength, resilience and improve your range of motion and flexibility. A more spiritual practice, be it meditation or simple mindfulness can relieve stress and promote states of deep relaxation.

My timetable includes Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin classes on a weekly basis. In classes, I make sure that I put effort into bringing the element of fun into the flow. I infuse verbal cues with humor and balance the sessions focused moments and lighter periods. Yoga is a practice that brings emphasis towards focus and calm however that shouldn't mean that students should be afraid to giggle if something tickles them. Yoga is, and should be fun and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Let go of your expectations, open your mind to the practice and lets start a journey together.

All classes are suitable for beginners and more experienced students as Yoga truly is accessible to everyone regardless of their ability.

If you can SAY yoga, you can PRACTICE yoga.
